Jump into Kindergarten

As your children are jumping into they are beginning to explore many exciting topics. Through various hands on experience the students are experimenting with primary and secondary colours.

The book "Mouse Paint" has intrinsically motivated all the members of the class to mix primary colours to make new colours; secondary colours. Also, the children have been learning about diversity and appreciating differences within one another through guided literacy experiences by reading aloud "The Colors of Us" and “The Crayon Box That Talked.”

Fall is just around the corner and we have been investigating and discussing all of the amazing changes that take place in nature. Children have been discussing this through indoor and outdoor experiences. Various creative activities have scaffolded the children in creating fall representations of trees, leaves, and the weather. The story “A Tree for All Seasons” has helped the children solidify their prior knowledge of fall as well as learn new concepts related to the seasons.

Kindergarten is a wonderful time in each child and families lives. Many new experiences will happen throughout the year and we look forward to sharing in this journey with you! :)
