Outdoor Exploration

While engaged in outdoor play in the kinder yard, the children have discovered numerous ladybugs. As children observe the lady bugs and investigate them, they begin to compare all of the lady bugs.
"Some are yellow and orange! Other ones are red, I wonder why." One child replies, "Well the orange lady bugs are endangered!" Another child says no no, they are poisons." Through further investigation the children notice a difference in number of spots the lady bugs have.

We have continued investigating ladybugs further and discovered there real name is ladybirds. Following a visit to the library children have begun reading about ladybirds and sharing their new information with each other.

Signs of Fall
With exploring the outdoors, children have noticed several signs of the season changing to fall. "Look the leaves are changing" exclaimed on child. Another added in "Yes and the leaves are falling." As other children overheard this conversation they were excited to share their ideas. "It is getting colder out and that means fall is coming."
Pictures were captured to document the children's ideas.
