Learning in the 21st Century
On a weekly basis we go to the
computer lab. During this time each student is learning the fundamental skills
of manipulating a mouse and keyboard. Further, they are exploring math,
science, and language concepts through interactive programs such as Millie’s
Math House, Math Circus, Sammie’s Science House, Plumo at the Zoo and Baillie’s
Book House.
In class we also use the projector to scaffold various learning experiences. The projector has been used during music and movement, interactive read alouds, and documentaries relating to lifecycles.
This month we also have the opportunity to engage in three photography workshops. The children will work in pairs to utilize a camera and capture pictures focusing on specific photography skills.
